Timber Framing & Woodcraft Skills Retreat for Teens

July 28 - 31st, 2026

This course immerses youth in the art of early American Timber Framing, using hand tools and locally sourced lumber.    We will learn to saw, chisel, hammer, cut and shape beams into a strong structure that can last for generations.  Woodworking, carving, spears, crafts and other wilderness skills are part of this four day program.

All tools provided.

Timber Frame Enclosure & Carpentry Skills Workshop

November 5-8, 2026

You've built a beautiful timber frame, so now is the time to enclose it!    This program gives you a deep dive into the most critical skills you need for roofing, flooring, siding, insulation, paneling, exterior trim and more.  We will discuss the many options you'll have to choose materials that fit your budget and style, and everyone will get direct experience measuring, cutting, installing and finishing a small cabin here at Hawk Circle.

Timber Framing Skills Workshop

November 5-8, 2026

This course is a shorter version of our Timber Frame Intensive, packed with skills like tenons, mortises, layout, Square Rule principles, rafters, sills, posts, etc and more. We cut and shape pegs, learn to move beams safely and have a great time, including raising our work if time permits.
