Your Subscription Box
Each box contains a journal with stories, insights and teachings on specific aspect of nature or a wilderness skill. Children can draw their own sketches of animal tracks, trees or wilderness skills they are learning, as well as answer questions that help them deepen their learning.
Each box includes different nature or wilderness crafts that help develop self esteem, problem solving skills and build life skills. All crafts are selected to help your child be successful without too much adult supervision. Felting, knots and weaving, stone tools, leather craft first aid, wood pendents and much more are offered throughout the year.
The skills part of each box offers an active way to connect to the natural world. Gardening, woodworking, survival crafts, camping skills, nature awareness, lost-proofing, cooking and much more are shared. Often, children will become
teachers of their siblings, friends and the whole
The Videos and Audio Recordings
Some children are visual learners, while others are auditory learners, and some like to read and learn. Knowing this, we've created videos and audio recordings for each box that enhance our written instructions. These are easy to access via our website where your child can learn directly from our wilderness instructors. Whether it's a skill or craft or nature journal, your child will have the support they need to feel successful.
The Nature Lessons
Our forest boxes follow seasonal and nature themes to help children learn by observing things that are happening in nature all around them. Shelter, Trees, Weather, Wild Foods, Exploring, Preparedness, Camping Skills, Stars, First Aid, Tracking and more are offered, using crafts, activities and 'skill spotlights' that expand their understanding of the natural world and their place in it.
