My Lineage
I was born and raised in Cooperstown, NY just 15 minutes away from where we live here at Hawk Circle. I love this area with the beautiful, rolling hills and winding valley roads. The landscape is so supportive of my work. After having my first child, Matthew, I began reestablishing my close connection to nature in a whole new way. Experiencing being outdoors through my child’s eyes was what really provided me fertile ground for my own personal growth and healing. I have since had two more wonderful children, my daughter Jesse and Javier, Ricardo’s and my son. My children have been my greatest teachers, mirroring to me more of who I am. Any struggles that we encounter have provided me with incredible opportunities to expand. My family is my proudest accomplishment! Being a mother and raising children is sacred to me and I feel blessed to have them in my life.
My Travels
Many years ago, I met my dear friend, Helena Shik. She was and still does offer the Purple Mountain Sacred Journeys. With her guidance and wisdom, I traveled to Peru, Ireland, Wales, England, Scotland, France, Greece, Turkey, and Egypt over a period of 15 years. I visited the ancient sacred sites that were once thriving spiritual power centers and through the energy that these lands hold, I was brought through many of the old initiations and rites of passage. These experiences have formed the foundation of my present day work and training programs.
My belief is that the temples of long ago existed as nature temples holding certain teachings and wisdom that is encoded in the natural landscape. I imagine people were drawn to these areas and built the temples and mystery schools at these sites, aligning themselves with the teachings. Over the years, while living here at Hawk Circle, I have seen the same energies present that facilitate all who come here opportunities to grow, heal and transform.
My Interests
I have gardened since I was ten years old. After hibernating during the cold winters here in the Northeast, I find nothing more therapeutic than getting my hands and feet in the dirt the first chance I can come spring!
For a few years, I planted most of the vegetable gardens here at Hawk Circle. Now, Ric and I have a small organic garden behind our house and a variety of herb and flower gardens. Many of the plants that I grow are used for both dyeing wool for my knitting projects as well as a variety of plants for my skin care products. I have also recently begun doing portrait work using a variety of different mediums and am working on a wall mural in our home. Drawing and painting has become my newest hobby.
My Work
Much of the foundation for my work has come from my experiences at many of the ancient sacred sites. While the energies of these beautiful places provided me with initiation, the real work was when I would return home and would begin integrating and changing old patterns with everything and everyone around me. It was my home environment and my relationships that mirrored to me patterns that no longer served me, thus providing me with fertile ground to grow and to heal. I became a conscious participant in my every day life and began to recognize how I create my reality. I have been, in a sense, a midwife to my soul, birthing greater aspects of myself. This is the basis for my work with students. By working with the seasonal rites of passage, I guide my students through their own inner labyrinths, helping them to become whole human beings and initiating them into the mysteries of heaven and earth. |
